The following video clip shows what is an attempt to break a speed record.  The footage was filmed last week as powerboat racer Stuart Hayim was attempting to set a speed record around Long Island in his 52-foot MTI catamaran – however their attempt was aborted after they collided with a buoy.

This incident highlights the effect that a stock standard buoy in defeating a potential high-speed WBIED attempt.
