Possible water-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (WBIED) kills one Turkish sailor in South East Turkey.

According to open sources:
On 22 May a Turkish fisherman reported the sighting of a life raft with two dead bodies 4 km off the coast of Samandag. (South East Turkey, close to the Syrian Border.)  Turkish Coastguard was dispatched from Çevlik to investigate the life raft. 
While the Turkish Coastguard was trying to take the life raft under tow, the raft exploded. The explosion killed one Turkish Coastguard sailor and wounded a fisherman.
Attacks at sea, by the use of Water-borne IEDs, has previously been carried out in various hotspots.

All merchant vessels navigating close to shore in the East Mediterranean Sea are advised to show extreme care, and report all suspicious sightings to the appropriate MRCC /Coastal State Authority.
